Dampcourse is a plastic material used when constructing a brick or block wall.
The dampcourse is laid between the bricks or blocks as a barrier to moisture, it prevents mosisture passing through the porus bricks and going up the wall, therefore prevents problems such as rising-damp & mold, and cracking.
